IEC continued providing preliminary project engineering and supporting SMUD in the process of developing the EIR, wind turbine generator (WTG) procurement RFP, and EPC RFP for Phase 3 of the Solano Wind Project as well as helping to develop a new substation. IEC assigned one of our Project Engineers and provided specialized engineering support for the Phase 3 Project to oversee the technical aspects and coordination of the various preliminary design development and planning tasks involved with the EIR process. IEC’s Project Engineer was responsible for: arranging for and participating in progress meetings throughout the project; developing project descriptions, specifications, and strategies; developing conceptual drawings and graphics; maintaining the Project budget and monthly variance reports; and working closely with SMUD and Contractor personnel to coordinate and streamline efforts. IEC also prepared the complete Project EPC RFP and associated technical specifications.
