The McClellan Combustion Turbine Plant was encountering significant problems related to its ultra-high temperature catalyst (1,005F). The Sacramento Municipal Utility District hired IEC to develop an economically viable alternative to bring the power plant into air emissions compliance. The report recommended installing a quench air system to reduce the exhaust duct to 850 degrees F and replacing the catalyst from an ultra high temperature catalyst to a high temperature catalyst. The report also included a capital cost estimate and schedule.
