LOCATION: SACRAMENTO, CA

IEC engineered design change packages for the replacement of two emergency generators and supervised the new installations. The packages replaced a 240 kW diesel engine generator at Loon Lake powerhouse with a 360 kW Kohler diesel unit, and a 60 kW gasoline engine generator at Union Valley with a 140 kW Cummins propane unit. The designs interfaced new 24 VDC circuits with existing 125 VDC control, alarm, and transfer circuits. IEC also generated and conducted test procedures for the auto-start and transfer after loss of offsite power.
