Cache Creek Feasibility Study

CLIENT: Cache Creek Casino Resort

IEC prepared a comprehensive feasibility study for the Cache Creek Hotel and Casino. IEC evaluated the following options to meet the estimated 8 MW electrical peak load for the hotel/casino and the estimated 35,000-lbs/hr steam load for the hotel (HVAC, hot water, laundry, etc.) The study consisted of conceptual schematics, engineering analysis, economic analysis, and a final recommendation. The options studied included:

• Reciprocating engines using natural gas
• Auxiliary boiler and steam turbine with cogeneration
• Gas turbine and steam turbine with cogeneration
• Gas turbine with cogeneration
• PG&E transmission and substation upgrade
