IEC's Contract to Support SMUD's Generation Assets is Extended

Sacramento, Calif., July 21, 2009 – The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) has extended IEC Corporation’s contract to provide professional engineering support services to the District’s Power Generation Department for two additional years. This ongoing contract with the SMUD Generation Operations Department consists of multidisciplinary (electrical, civil, structural, mechanical, control systems, telecommunication) engineering services for all of SMUD’s generation projects and supporting infrastructure on an as-needed basis. SMUD’s generation plants include hydroelectric facilities, gas-fired plants, wind plant facilities, and solar arrays. These plants are supported by the utility-scale electric power systems, substations, and other infrastructure to serve customer load.

Our cooperative approach in providing the District with responsive engineering services has established IEC as a trusted contractor for this Department. Prior to this contract extension, IEC had been awarded four previous contracts to support the District’s generation facilities, dating back to 2003.
