IEC Stays on at LADWP Pine Tree Wind Plant for Expansion

Los Angeles, Calif., July 10, 2009 – IEC Corporation was asked to stay on at the Pine Tree Wind Project (PTWP) to support the Los Angeles Water and Power Department (LADWP) during the 15 MW expansion of the existing project near Tehachapi, California. During the expansion, IEC will continue its ongoing support from the initial project and will be responsible for monitoring construction by the plant contractors and for assisting Department Staff to assure the successful construction of the expansion.

The initial 120 MW PTWP build-out was installed and began operating in early 2009. IEC provided monitoring and management of the construction of access roads, 80 wind turbine pads, 80 wind turbine foundations, a 34.5 kV electrical collection system, transportation and erection of 80 GE 1.2 MW wind turbines, 230 kV transmission line and maintenance facility as well as monitoring of environmental compliance.
