![]() Home :: What's New :: IEC to Provide Owner's Engineering Support for Turlock Irrigation District's Almond Power Plant Expansion Sacramento, Calif., January 15, 2009 – The Turlock Irrigation District (TID) has chosen IEC Corporation to provide Owner’s Engineering Support for its Almond Power Plant Expansion. The project is planned to be sited on land adjacent to the existing Almond Power Plant. IEC is currently preparing six preliminary power plant layout options for various peaker configurations along with budgetary project cost estimates for a range of outputs using GE LMS100 and GE LM6000 gas turbines. IEC is also tasked with performing preliminary engineering, working with vendors to size and select equipment, and preparing detailed total capital cost estimates for all six options. Based on these options, TID intends to select one option with which to move forward in applying for its AFC with the California Energy Commission. Once approved, IEC will also be providing Owner’s Engineering oversight of the design process and equipment procurement. |
