![]() Home :: What's New :: SMUD/CEC Renewable Generation RD&D Program Final Report Assigned to IEC Sacramento, Calif., September 14, 2007 – The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) has chosen IEC Corporation to complete its Renewable Generation Research, Development & Demonstration (RD&D) Program Final Report for the California Energy Commission (CEC) that will detail the utility’s research project aimed at meeting state energy goals. The Renewable Generation RD&D Program (ReGen Program) consists of 24 project reports based around four emphasis areas: 1) Assessing and Targeting Renewable Electricity Development; 2) Increasing Affordability by Improving Existing Facilities; 3) Expanding Affordability and Diversity Using Renewable Distributed Technologies; and 4) Developing Renewable Technologies for Tomorrow’s Electricity System. IEC’s objective is to prepare a condensed compendium of the 24 project final reports and prepare a Final Report that ties these reports together and explains the relevance of these projects in meeting the State’s energy goals. The Final Report will be submitted to SMUD and the CEC and is intended to inform CEC Commissioners, SMUD Board members, legislature members, staff, members of the various energy-related industries, and interested members of the public. |
