IEC initially performed an engineering feasibility study to repower the Westinghouse W251 combustion turbine with a GE LM6000 combustion turbine at the combined cycle cogeneration facility. Following this study, IEC was contracted to inspect the condition of a new LM6000 S&S package that had been in storage and prepare a final procurement recommendation to the client. Algonquin then hired IEC to lead the engineering team for the detailed design of the repower project. IEC is now on site at the facility providing Project Management and Construction and Start-up Management. IEC field personnel are responsible for scheduling, field engineering support, project management support, contractor coordination, design review, document control, interfacing with City Building Department, and field inspection services. The project is expected to be complete near the end of 2007. |
