Sacramento, Calif., April 23, 2007 – The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) looks to IEC Corporation to support its Distributed Generation and Combined Cooling, Heat, and Power (DG/CCHP) projects.

IEC will identify and evaluate potential DG/CCHP projects at specific customer sites, such as a campus, district heating and cooling, or individual building projects, and prepare technical and economic feasibility studies that include electricity and heat/cooling loads and total energy economics for both the District and the customer.

IEC will also assist with a number of additional activities including: evaluating existing DG/CCHP energy projects or proposals, providing emission and total energy efficiency performance comparisons, analyzing possible fuel cell technologies and projects that may be used as DG and/or CCHP installations within the District, and providing technical writing and editing of reports.
