The overall focus of this project is to evaluate and develop a business plan for SMUD ownership of a Heating and Cooling plant for the new Sacramento Railyard development. IEC is responsible for estimating the scope and cost of installing a central energy supply plant and distribution system to serve the development based on demand and energy use requirements for the buildings proposed. To assist SMUD and the Developer in determining the feasibility of this facility, IEC will deliver a report summarizing the distribution system and district heating and cooling plant equipment required to serve the initial two phases of the Railyard project. The report will include estimated savings for the mechanical equipment and mechanical space of each building or parcel. IEC will also provide a report that estimates the district heating and cooling equipment needed when adding the buildings and parcels in phases 3, 4 and 5 to the distribution system and central plant. |
