IEC will explore the engineering parameters and challenges that will shape the project scope to repower the existing Westinghouse 251 turbine with either a GE LM6000 PC or SPRINT turbine. IEC will perform a site visit, gather pertinent plant drawings, prepare heat balance models, create conceptual general arrangement drawings, create preliminary equipment lists, gather equipment quotes from vendors, and develop a project scope document for the chosen configuration. This scope document will firm up the engineering and construction management scope and costs, and will also provide a detailed estimate of the equipment and construction costs for the project based on the Preliminary Engineering investigation. Algonquin will then be able to use the information gathered during this process to make accurate and decisive project planning and budget decisions. |
